Q
Irene Adler. IRENE ADLER.
A

Lol, I love that it took 5 minutes for someone to ask about Irene.

  • What they smell like:
Irene smells like Casmir by Chopard. Due to perfume interacting with body chemistry, on Irene what lingers with the Casmir is sandalwood and vanilla, with just enough bergamot, musk, and lily of the valley to question whether the vanilla is actually there.
  • How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc):
Irene insists on a full eight hours. She can function on much less, but she considers sleep a luxury she deserves, rather than a bodily necessity that slows her down. Contrary to popular belief, Irene almost always sleeps alone (1000 thread count is minimum for her sheets please), and while she doesn’t sprawl all over the bed, she does tend to sleep in the smack dab middle of the bed, slanted diagonally, so that even if someone were trying to share the bed with her, they’d be less than likely to get enough space to be comfortable.
  • What music they enjoy:
Opera, obviously. She finds La Boheme insufferable, tolerates Verdi depending on the opera and the skill of the company, and has a soft spot for Porgy and Bess. She also enjoys Cole Porter. Some days, when she knows she is going to have to deal with a particularly irritating (but strategically useful) client, she’ll play Lana Del Rey while getting ready.
  • How much time they spend getting ready every morning:
Hours (at least one and a half, not counting a shower). Even though she and Kate are both very well-versed in her toilette routine, Irene considers her makeup and her entire persona as the Woman to be armour and warpaint all in one, and refuses to let it be rushed. So she will indulge in the necessary time to get every stroke perfect and every curl in place.
  • Their favorite thing to collect:
    Secrets. Obviously.
  • Left or right-handed:
Naturally right-handed, but Irene taught herself to not only be ambidexterous, but to even favour her left hand in some activities to fool anyone who thinks she might be one or the other.
  • Religion (if any):
None. She flirted with Catholicism as a child, being fascinated by the power the priests held over people in terms of determining forgiveness and assigning penance, but Irene was ultimately too practical and self-interested to bend to anyone else dictating her behaviour.
  • Favorite sport:
    Ballet.
  • Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling (museums, local food, sightseeing, etc):
People watching. Irene prefers finding those little tucked away coffee shops and bookstores and cafes, and just spending hours watching people come through. It entertains her to see  them, to watch people and read everything they liked in their behaviour and their appearance. She claims it tells her more about a city than the architecture, to know what its denizens liked. But even with that, she always makes time in a new city to take a trip to its highest point, whether it’s a tower or a skyscraper or a mountain, to just enjoy seeing the city spread out beneath her feet.
  • Favorite kind of weather:
If she doesn’t have to be out in it, Irene enjoys a good rain or snow storm, watching nature try to hide the city. But God help anyone who runs into her if she’s caught in a rain or snow storm, she’ll rip them a new one.
  • A weird/obscure fear they have:
Aside from being out of control? Earthquakes. Because the entire world shaking around you is literally as out of control as you can get.
  • The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail:
Darts. Don’t ask where she learned to play darts. She’s insanely good at them. (Secondarily good at shooting games)
